“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
Matthew 13:31-32
In 2024, we can say that humanity is capable of shooting down rockets in the sky. Our computers can read and write and basically think for themselves. Vegetarians can eat meat that was grown in a lab, and robotics engineers have created droids that can complete obstacle courses. We can order Thai food and have a complete stranger bring it to the lobby of our apartment building. We can leave 2 stars on Amazon for a pair of pants that were smaller than advertised. A-List actors star in direct-to-streaming films with two hundred million dollar budgets, and it doesn’t mean they are nearing the end. There’s an app for just about everything, and our phones are always listening to us so we can get the most-accurate marketing possible. We can desalinate ocean water, and Elon is hoping to cut down the time it takes to get to Mars substantially.
And despite all these advancements, all this technology, all of our progress and growth and evolving, what Great Thing have we done for His Kingdom?
In an age of illiteracy, treks on donkey-back, e coli in the drinking water, and a good meal consisting of stale bread and dry fish, humanity birthed and raised the Christ, carried His teachings to every corner of the Earth, established doctrine, and advanced the Kingdom of God.
Just imagine what we could do to further His Kingdom if we applied our advancements, our technology, our progress and growth and evolution. Imagine the positive impact we could have on future generations of believers.
What Great Thing will we, the people of today, do to further the Kingdom of God?

Simply asking what we can we can to further the kingdom today … that’s a good thing.
Come holy Spirit … what would I do with you today? Amen?
