When artificial intelligence can compose symphonies, generate stunning artwork, and write persuasive prose, human creativity and creation no longer matter.
And when creativity and creation no longer matter, creativity and creation matter more than ever.
In this new era of unimaginable-technological innovation, the power to paint the Mona Lisa is only ever a few keyboard click-clacks away. So why study art? Why study poetry or music composition or foreign languages or anything AI can do?
Well, because there has always been two positive values generated by creative expression: external and internal. AI will render the external value of creative expression valueless. Why pay a human to make something a computer can do faster and better?
And though this ghastly new reality is approaching at a frightful pace, fear not, for artificial intelligence can never deprive us of the internal value of our creative pursuits.
For when we sketch vistas, draft verses, sound-out rhythms, and converse bilingually, something happens inside our very souls. We generate the spirit of spiritedness, the effect of efficaciousness, the passion of passionate self-expression and the bliss of blissful personal-authentication!
Our lived-experience of this world, the fleeting time our permits permit us to meander through the showroom of God’s greatest hits, this eden we call our home, matters.
So take up your brush, your quill, your instrument of choice. Mindfully enjoy each moment of veritable creation, for its true value may not be visible, audible, or tangible in this world, but its value is true to you, and to me, and to all of us.
And that is something AI will never be able to replace.
