“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
Mother Teresa
As I parked my car and began walking into the market, an Elderly Employee with a long beard shuffled up to me.
“My gas guy is here. If you park there, you’ll get trapped in that spot for over an hour.” The Elderly Employee worked at the market, and he was holding up his hand in a Stop gesture, keeping at bay the enormous gasoline delivery truck that I had apparently not noticed.
“Oh,” I said, surprised. “Um, ok.” I got back into my car and backed up. The Elderly Employee directed me to another spot along the curb.
“You should be good over there,” he said with a smile.
I watched as he shuffled back towards the market, hunched over and walking slowly.
I entered the market after him and called out: “Thank you, Sir, that was very kind of you.”
He replied, “Of course, wouldn’t want you to lose an hour for nothing.”

Regardless of this Elderly Employee’s religious beliefs, Church attendance, or personal ideology, he is a good man, a friend of Jesus, and a doer of The Word, not a hearer only.
