Is this not an extension, a development, a furtherance of the teaching: Love Your Enemies?

How do we reconcile with foes? How do we bridge painful gaps?

Might it be as simple as friendship? The acknowledgement of similarities, the appreciation of differences, the desire to love and be loved.

Making friends of our enemies is to love them, no?
