“The measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you”

You are who you choose to be, and, according to today’s Gospel, apparently, you are also given what you give.

For it is easier to forgive for he who has felt the longing to be forgiven.

It is easier not to judge for she who has felt the sting of being judged.

Without pain, how can we have compassion for the suffering of others?

The wisdom of His words ring just as true today as they did millennia ago.

“Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give, and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.” Luke 6
