Autumn is my favorite time to take pictures.

The colors pop, the air is chilly, and the light always seems to be softer.

I recently thought I wanted to sell my Fujifilm X-Pro2 to facilitate an upgrade to full frame. However, at the last minute, I decided to keep my Fuji gear. I can’t fully explain it; there is something about my scratched and dinged up X-Pro2 that I love.

I’ve taken some of my favorite pictures with it and have many memories of having it around my neck.

A quote from one of my favorite photographers, William Albert Allard, popped up in my head while I was trying to decided what to do. The quote inspires me and pushes me. Allard’s words remind me of what I love most about photography – the opportunity to connect to the world.

You’ve got to push yourself harder. You’ve got to start looking for pictures nobody else could take. You’ve got to take the tools you have and probe deeper.

I’m keeping my X-Pro2 and will continue to fight off Gear Acquisition Syndrome, one day at a time. These are a few images I shot on an autumn hike I recently took. All of the images are shot with the Fujifilm X-Pro2 and the 23mm f/1.4.
