For two weekends each year, homeowners in picturesque Newport, Rhode Island open up their private gardens for an admiring public. Known for stately mansions and even more stately gardens, Newport also possesses smaller scale yet equally grand homes lining a few streets along the waterfront. We grabbed our cameras and sought content for Project 25 (are we really approaching the midpoint of this 52 Projects Project?).
A secondary goal was to try to learn some landscaping and garden design ideas as there is a significant project looming for me. In the coming few summers, I will be gutting and constructing a very large garden myself and so I was hoping to gain some insights into how this can be done in a tasteful and unique (and maintain-able) manner.
Success on both fronts.

And now here are Joey’s:

My images include ones from the garden tour but also depict flowers I saw over the course of the week. I really like taking photographs of nature, trees, flowers, and spring growth, and therefore enjoyed this week’s project. I even snapped an image of a tiny bug on a flower in my last entry without even realizing it.
