We received an email this week from Karen, saying… well, we’ll just let her say it:

I had to comment on today’s stairs.  I find stairs equally appealing [*] and when I am on vacation I always seem to take photos of stairs and narrow alleys.  Here are a few of my stairs. Forgive this non-photographer’s iPhone photos!

We asked Karen if we could post her images here because when we saw them, we both thought: She’s a non-photographer…?

The image above was taken outside Melk Abbey in Austria. The first image below was taken at the Vatican Museum in Rome and the second in Assisi.
