I’ve been trying to find interesting photographic subjects in less obvious places. My inclination has been to dream about standing along a trail in Yosemite Valley in perfect reflected light. Or to be walking in Little Havana in Miami photographing the craftsmen cigar makers during a pre-sunset glow. Those are cool things. But so too are the everyday moments I all too easily and often pass by without even seeing.
The above scene was off the main waiting area of an all too crowded (because it was all too excellent) restaurant on Cape Cod. I was looking through the viewfinder of my camera… mostly because I was trying to figure out how to make a setting change.
Then I saw it.
